In storeYesWalmart says you can pay with a SNAP EBT card for eligible items in its stores. At the register, swipe the EBT card first and enter your PIN. Walmart's payment-methods page also lists EBT cards from participating states as accepted for EBT-eligible items.
OnlineYesWalmart says SNAP EBT cards can be used at all participating Walmart stores and online for pickup, delivery or shipping, on Walmart.com and in the app. Sign in, add the card to your Walmart wallet, look for the SNAP EBT eligible badge or use the SNAP eligible filter under Benefit Programs, then enter your PIN at checkout. Non-SNAP items can go in the same order with another payment method.
PickupYesWalmart's SNAP page says SNAP EBT can be used online for pickup. A separate Walmart help article on substitutions describes SNAP/EBT pickup orders: with no backup payment method, Walmart substitutes an item at the same or a lower price, or cancels it and refunds your SNAP/EBT card.
DeliveryYesSNAP EBT can pay for eligible food on Walmart delivery orders. Walmart says delivery fees and other service charges cannot be paid with SNAP EBT. Fees can be paid with EBT cash or another payment type. Walmart+ members get unlimited scheduled delivery with no delivery fees, but a Walmart+ membership is not required to use SNAP. A separate Walmart help article covers SNAP/EBT delivery substitutions: a driver cannot take back a substituted item, so you start a return instead.
Cafe / food courtNoWalmart's SNAP pages do not mention in-store cafes or restaurants. Under USDA rules, prepared food meant to be eaten in the store is not eligible for SNAP. The exception is the Restaurant Meals Program, which only some states run and only at approved restaurants. Check whether a restaurant inside a store is approved before you order.
Hot prepared foodNoHot prepared food is not eligible for SNAP at any store, including Walmart's hot deli items. What counts is whether the food is hot when you buy it. Walmart's own listings show chilled rotisserie chicken marked SNAP EBT eligible, while the hot versions did not show the badge in the listing text we saw. A bill that would add hot rotisserie chicken has not become law; see our rotisserie chicken page.
